Restorative dentistry is a branch of dentistry that deals with the replacement of lost hard dental tissues with appropriate dental materials. The task of restorative dentistry is to return the tooth to its original shape, thereby compensate both function and aesthetics. The loss of dental tissue can occur due to various factors, such as caries, trauma, bad habits or oral hygiene... This branch of dentistry deals with diseases of hard dental tissues, such as caries, or diseases of the dental nerve.

Caries is the most common dental disease. You have probably already encountered this problem, which can be very unpleasant. It is caused by the deposition of dental plaque bacteria. It can lead to tooth sensitivity at the beginning, and in advanced stages it can be the cause of dental nerve (pulp) disease, and even lead to tooth loss. In order to prevent this from happening, regular preventive visits to the dentist are very important. In such situations, it is possible to detect caries in the initial stages and thereby save the tooth and prevent further complications.

Caries therapy involves its complete removal and replacement of lost tooth tissue. For this compensation, aesthetic composite white fillings are used that adapt to the color of the teeth. Composite fillings, i.e. white fillings, serve as fillings for teeth damaged by caries, cracks or fractures. White fillings have exceptional aesthetic and mechanical characteristics, so they fit perfectly with the natural color of the teeth and are very long-lasting.

Composite materials are also used to make composite veneers on the front teeth. Dental veneers are used for small corrections of the shape and color of the front teeth. Composite veneers are easy to make and, with good maintenance afterwards, they can last a long time and have extremely beautiful aesthetic features. The thickness of the dental veneer is about 1 mm and it is modeled directly on the tooth. They are very easy to install, and people who opt for composite dental veneers can use them to correct the shape and color of their front teeth and achieve satisfactory aesthetic results in a simple way.

In the case of diseases of the teeth and dental nerve, appropriate effective methods are applied to treat the pulp, i.e. endodontic therapy of root canal. Endodontic therapy mechanically removes decomposed organic ingredients and bacterial toxins, caused by the decay of the dental nerve. After cleaning and rinsing the canal, it is filled with special pastes so that the space inside the tooth remains hermetically sealed and safe from re-inflammation. In cases of more serious and advanced pulp infections, various medications are used in order to completely cure the tooth.

Teeth whitening certainly belongs to the domain of aesthetic dentistry. When it comes to teeth whitening, this is one of the most popular treatments in modern dentistry. There are two basic methods of teeth whitening, namely in-clinic and home teeth whitening. In-clinic teeth whitening takes place in a dental clinic under the control of a dentist. High-concentration gels are used and appropriate gum protection is applied.

Clinic teeth whitening takes between 30 and 60 minutes and during that time the teeth can be whitened from two to four shades. Laser clinic teeth whitening involves the chemical removal of tooth pigments, which become significantly whiter and brighter. In the home whitening process, gels of lower concentrations are used, the process takes longer and can be repeated until the desired shade is achieved.

Thanks to the clinical experience of the doctor in this field, good and timely diagnosis of tooth damage and the appropriate choice of materials for restoration, a good result and a satisfied patient are obtained.
