Implant placement procedure

The procedure for placement of implant teeth is simple. At the beginning, it is necessary to perform an X-ray of the jaw in order to make an individual treatment plan. The implant placement operation itself takes about 30 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes per jaw. After the operation, you wait 3 months for the implant to ingrow into the jawbone. After that period, the patient comes to the office again, where an upgrade (superstructure) is screwed on the implant and an impression is taken and definitive prosthetic work (crown) is made.

• time of stay and deadlines for production

It is necessary to be 2 days in Belgrade for implant installation intervention and 3 to 5 working days more for creating of temporary prothesis. For the production of all other types of prosthetics it is necessary to set aside up to 10 working days to stay in Belgrade.

1. Implant placement procedure?

Implants are implanted in the bone surgically with the use of local anesthesia.

PHASE 1

During the first visit, a clinical examination with an X-ray image is performed, on the basis of which the general oral health of the patient is determined and it is assessed whether the candidate has a satisfactory predisposition for the procedure to be successful. After that, a plan for implant placement and an appropriate prosthetic solution is made.

It is necessary to remove the existing tooth first, if it has not already been removed. An implant can be placed in the same visit.

The gums are removed and the implant is placed directly into the bone with an appropriate instrument. After the implant is placed, the gums are sutured with sutures that resorb by themselves and do not need to be removed.

The next step is a period of adhesion that lasts 3 to 6 months, during which the implant adheres to the bone.

PHASE 2

After the surrounding bone tissue has fused with the implant, a suprastructure is placed on the implant and an impression is taken to make a crown.

2. How long the implant placement takes?

The implant placement intervention depends on the number and location of the implants and lasts about 30 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes per jaw.

3. Do I need an orthopan or a 3d image?

It is ideal to use a 3D image for implant placement, because only on the basis of it can a precise assessment and implantation plan be made, because it gives us the necessary information about the width and height of the bone.

4. Are there any contraindications for implant placement?

If you are missing one or more natural teeth, your natural ability to chew, aesthetic appearance or speech is impaired, then you are a candidate for dental implants. The installation is also recommended for people who have difficulty or complete inability to wear dentures. A potential obstacle may be the amount of bone or the height of the bone ridge or the unfavorable bone structure. In this case, an additional bone augmentation procedure is required in order to be able to perform the implant placement in the jaw.

Prerequisite is good oral hygiene, as well as that you do not have health problems that can jeopardize healing (uncontrolled diabetes, chemotherapy after tumors, etc.). After consultations, examinations and diagnostics, our oral surgeon will assess whether you are a suitable candidate for implant placement and determine the appropriate therapy in a conversation with you.

5. Is implant placement painful?

Implant placement is a small surgical procedure performed under local anesthesia. After the anesthesia subsides, a slight discomfort due to the procedure itself is possible.

6. Is there swelling after implant placement?

Mild swelling in the area of the gums or face may occur up to the third day after implant placement. It is usually very mild and slowly recedes after the third day.

7. How long does it take to recover after implant placement?

Two to three hours after the procedure, you must not eat or drink hot beverages. Also, do not rinse or shake the liquid in your mouth. We recommend our patients not to smoke that day.

After surgery, the discomfort should be minimal. Swelling of the gums and face and minor bleeding and swelling around the implant site may occur. In this case, we recommend the use of cold compresses. In the period from 5 to 7 days after the procedure, your diet should be limited

8. Do I take any medications after the implant placement intervention?

After the implant is placed, it is necessary to continue with antibiotic therapy, and if necessary, take painkillers that will be recommended by your doctor.

9. Material from which implants are made?

Pure titanium or titanium alloy is the material from which implants are made, because it is a material that is completely biocompatible and the organism does not recognize it as a foreign body.

10. Which dental implant is the best?

The best dental implants are those that are well made. The most important feature for receiving a dental implant is the shape and surface of the titanium surface of the implant itself. The better and more precise the preparation, the greater the chance that the tooth screw will be firm and ingrow well into the bone. Special surface treatment ensures better integration of the dental implant and that is where the difference between premium brands and the others lies.

11. What does premium implant mean?

Features of premium implants:

  • Type of material - premium implants are always made of pure titanium, without the addition of other metals, and are therefore extremely biocompatible.
  • Certificate - manufacturers guarantee the quality of implants.
  • Components - easy availability of all components as well as a large selection of extensions or abutments for implants.

12. Premium implant 390€, an opportunity not to be missed?

Due to the large number of Premium implants that are ordered by our clinic, the manufacturers have special benefits for us and our patients also get that opportunity. Only in the Dental Plaza clinic you have the opportunity to get a premium implant of the highest quality at a reduced price of 390€

13. Does the body reject a dental implant?

The success of dental implants placement is extremely high. Millions of implants are installed annually in the world with a success rate of 99%.

14. Can implants be removed?

Dental implants are implanted in the bone and in the next few months firmly adhere to it. If for any reason it is necessary to remove a dental implant, it is possible and is done in a similar way as tooth extraction.

15. What if I don't have enough jaw bone?

Tooth loss often leads to bone loss. For implant placement, the ridge of the bone needs to be high enough, wide enough, or both, to keep the implant stable.

If the bone shrinks, it is necessary to make an augmentation of the bone (augmentation) in order to successfully place the implant into it. Bone augmentation is a procedure that implants artificial bone. After the upgrade, you should wait a couple of months for the bone to fully coalesce.

16. Can I install an implant immediately after tooth extraction?

Implant placement immediately after tooth extraction is a common practice at our clinic. While it used to take several months after extraction for the implant to be implanted, recent research shows that a blood clot that occurs after tooth extraction will help the implant to grow better in

17. How are dental implants maintained?

In the postoperative period, the patient receives clear instructions on how to maintain oral hygiene and on behavior. Long-term maintenance of oral hygiene with implants and prosthetics on implants does not differ much from regular maintenance of hygiene with people with healthy teeth. The only difference is that patients with implants are insisted on is the use of WATERPIK devices and regular check-ups every 6 months.

18. What if the implant becomes inflamed?

Neglect of oral hygiene is the main cause of failure in implant placement, in which case infection of the surrounding tissue can occur. As a consequence of the accumulation of food and inadequate cleaning of the gums around the implant, inflammation of the gums occurs, which if left untreated, leads to the spread of inflammation further to the bone. The bone around the implant breaks down and all this leads to the loss of the implant. In order for every patient to be sure that he maintains oral hygiene well, regular check-ups and following to the dentist's advice are necessary.

19. What is the lifespan of the implant?

With proper hygiene, the implant is a lifelong solution.

20. What does a lifetime warranty mean?

Manufacturers of high quality and reliable implants give a lifetime warranty on each placed implant. In the case of implant rejection due to a change in the general health of the patient or local changes due to inadequate maintenance of oral hygiene, the patient does not bear the costs of replacement or re-installation of implants.

21. How much does an implant with a crown cost?

The price of one implant with a metal-ceramic crown is 510e, and the price of one implant with a metal free-ceramic crown is 620e.

ljudi u stomatoloskoj ordinaciji

22. Why was the price of the implant reduced to 390€?

Our clinic ranks first in the region in the number of implants installed. For that reason, we get the appropriate benefits from the manufacturer, and therefore our patients also get those benefits.

23. What is all on 4 all on 6?

Bridge on 6 implants

"All-on six" is a method that is more suitable for those who have lost all teeth in either the upper or lower jaw and want to restore jaw function and facial aesthetics in a short time. With this method, 6 implants are placed in the jaw, on which, after healing, a ceramic bridge is fixed, which completely compensates for the lost natural teeth. In case there is a lack of a bone ridge, an artificial bone is installed. The bridge, which is placed on 6 implants, makes the whole reconstruction more stable and long-lasting, and restores a complete smile to your face.

Bridge on 4 implants

"All-on four" therapy is specific in that the teeth of one jaw are fixed on 4 implants. Due to the special method of implantation, this is an ideal therapy for those patients who do not have enough bones. In this method, implants are placed in the front part of the jaw where the largest amount of bone is located. This method is mainly used in the lower jaw and then patients get a shortened dentition row, ie a smaller number of teeth in the jaw.

24. Can implants be installed by pregnant women?

Any exposure to uncomfortable situations during pregnancy is not desirable. Since the implant placement procedure involves examination and X-ray as well as the use of anesthesia, most dentists advise expectant mothers to wait until the baby is born, and then they can be completely sure that oral intervention will not harm the baby.

25. What is the age limit for implant placement?

There is no age limit for implant placement. In old age, if there are chronic diseases that are under regular therapy, they are not a contraindication for implant placement. There is no absolute contraindication for implants.

26. Can I have a head scanner with implants?

A head scan can be done even though you have implants in place as they do not represent any contraindication for CT imaging. When it comes to magnetic resonance imaging, imaging can also be done without any contraindications, because in recent years, implants have been made of pure titanium without an alloy with other metals, so there are no more obstacles to examination.
